Testing for Correct Behavior

With everything else checked, deleted, and adjusted, you can safely save your file with the model in the screen orientation you want for its thumbnail. Before you upload it, a good test for correct behavior is in order.

In a new SketchUp file, import your model and check the following:

• Does the thumbnail look correct?

• If designed to interact with existing geometry, is it attaching to other faces as intended?

• If it is a free standing model or component, does it insert at the desired point?

• Select the imported model or component. Is the bounding box tight to the geometry?

• Can you use the Move tool to interact with the component?

• Can you apply Materials?

• Can you edit the component easily?

Once you’ve answered these questions you can upload your model!
