Hardware Acceleration Errors

Last updated: avr. 15, 20261 min read.

Hardware acceleration is unsupported or has been disabled on your graphics card.

This error appears when your graphics hardware (GPU) isn’t capable of utilizing hardware acceleration. You can troubleshoot this error in the following ways:

  • Update your GPU or graphics drivers – SketchUp will take advantage of hardware acceleration if your computer has a 100% OpenGL compatible GPU. Most modern GPUs are capable of using hardware acceleration. If you are using an older GPU or aren’t using the most updated drivers you may experience some issues with 3D rendering.

  • Check your system settings – Hardware acceleration might only be available on your system for certain resolutions and color depths. Check the system settings for your video card to see if it supports hardware acceleration using the Control Panel on Microsoft Windows or System Preferences on MacOS. SketchUp runs best when you set your display colors to a 32-bit color depth.
